Entstehungsgeschichte des Comics

1 Im Anfang war nicht das Wort. Im allerersten Anfang war das Bild.
2 Es war nicht gut, dass das Bild allein war.
3 So begann es sich zu teilen.
4 Immer und immer weiter teilte sich das Bild.
5 Bis dann der Mensch im Bilde war.
6 Mit dem Menschen kam schließlich das Wort. Und das Wort war im Bild.
7 Also lebten Mensch und Wort im Bild und die Bilder im Menschen.
8 Bis dass der Mensch die Bilder nahm, sie ordnete und ihnen Odem einhauchte.
9 Fortan herrschte er über sie und sprach: Seid fruchtbar und mehret Euch, ein jegliches in seiner Art.
10 Und also geschah es.
11 Da erhoben sich die Bilder und sprachen untereinander: Lasset uns den Menschen untertan machen.
12 So dient der Mensch nun den Bildern und gehet ein in ihr Reich.

History of the creation of the comic

1 In the beginning was not the word. In the very beginning was the image.
2 It was not good that the image was alone.
3 So it began to divide.
4 Over and over again, the image divided.
5 Until then man was in the image.
6 With the man came finally the word. And the word was in the picture.
7 So man and word lived in the image and the images in man.

8 Until man took the images, arranged them and breathed breath into them.
9 Henceforth he ruled over them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, every one according to his kind.
10 And so it came to pass.
11 Then the images arose and said among themselves, Let us subdue man.
12 Man therefore serve the images, and enter into their kingdom.
